We truly loved our stay. It was close to everything we had time to see on our mini trip. The Hillside rental was fully thought out, and stocked with everything you could need. We will definitely rent here again.
If you think the pictures are beautiful, just wait until you see it in person! It was very private and peaceful. Everything was very clean and well stocked with anything you could possibly need. Every detail was perfect. Thank you again for a beautiful getaway!
Centrally located if you’re here to hike or to check out any local restaurants or wineries. Very thoughtful amenities, clean, and beautiful stay inside and out! Romantic and calming, highly recommend!!!
Lovely stay! The location was private and peaceful, the house was full of all the amenities you would need, and the host was great with communication. Exceeded 5-out-of-5 star rating and would visit again!
We had an amazing stay! The little cabin was so cute inside. It was the perfect location to hike trails, but not too far away from town and restaurants. Lots of games and fun things to do at the cabin as well!
I cannot say enough about this place. It’s absolute perfection! Exactly as pictured and yet somehow even better at the same time. The outside space is incredible and there wasn’t a single detail missed. The host provided little add ons that made it feel like we were at a spa. The space is clean, organized, and beautifully decorated. My best friend and I were in desperate need of rest and relaxation and this was the best escape we could have asked for. Can’t recommend enough! Thank you!
We loved everything! Perfect place to get engaged ❤️
My husband and I stayed here for our 20th wedding anniversary. It was exactly as pictured and described in the listing. The entire place was very clean, cozy and welcoming. The attention to detail stood out compared to other places we have stayed in. If we were staying longer, we would have taken advantage of all the kitchen has to offer, but we definitely enjoyed the coffee station! The outdoor area was perfect! It rained the weekend we stayed and we were able to spend time under the covered porch, either in the seating area or the hot tub, listening to the rain without getting wet. The hills and trees provided ample privacy. Location was great & convenient! It was close to the trails. We spent the morning hiking, then came back for lunch, and then went back out hiking. The nearby coffee shop has delicious breakfast sandwiches to start the day. Overall a great weekend that ended far too quickly! We will for sure stay here again and I’ve already recommended this place to others! :)
Things to Do
From scenic trails and waterfalls to caves and unforgettable outdoor adventures, discover the experiences that make Hocking Hills worth exploring.
Old Man’s Cave is one of the most famous and unforgettable attractions in Hocking Hills, Ohio, and a must-visit destination for travelers staying in the Hocking Hills region. Located within the spectacular Hocking Hills State Park area, this scenic natural landmark is known for its towering sandstone cliffs, narrow gorge, waterfalls, rock shelters, forested hiking trails, and dramatic Appalachian foothill scenery. The area offers visitors an opportunity to experience the rugged natural beauty that makes Hocking Hills one of Ohio’s most popular destinations for outdoor recreation.
The trails surrounding Old Man’s Cave take visitors through a landscape shaped by water, erosion, and time. Massive sandstone formations rise above the gorge while moss-covered rocks, dense hardwood forests, seasonal waterfalls, and flowing streams create a peaceful atmosphere throughout the area. During spring, the forest comes alive with fresh greenery and wildflowers, while summer provides lush foliage and cool, shaded hiking conditions. Fall is especially spectacular when the surrounding hills become covered in vibrant shades of red, orange, yellow, and gold. Winter transforms the landscape into a quieter setting where frozen waterfalls and snow-covered cliffs create a completely different experience.
For hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, Old Man’s Cave provides access to some of the most scenic hiking opportunities in Hocking Hills. The combination of rock formations, creek crossings, waterfalls, narrow passages, and forest scenery makes the area particularly appealing to photographers and nature lovers. Visitors can take their time exploring the trails, stopping at scenic overlooks, photographing the sandstone cliffs, or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
Old Man’s Cave is also an excellent attraction for couples, families, adventure travelers, and weekend visitors staying at Hocking Hills vacation rentals. Ash Cave is one of the most impressive natural landmarks in Hocking Hills, Ohio, and a popular attraction for visitors looking to experience the region’s dramatic sandstone landscapes. The centerpiece of the area is a massive sandstone recess cave surrounded by forest, cliffs, waterfalls, and scenic trails. Its enormous scale and unusual geological features make Ash Cave one of the most memorable places to visit during a Hocking Hills vacation.
The trail leading to Ash Cave provides a relatively easy way for visitors to experience the beauty of Hocking Hills without committing to a strenuous hike. As visitors make their way through the forest, the landscape gradually opens toward the enormous sandstone formation. The contrast between the dense woodland and the massive rock overhang creates an impressive setting for photography and sightseeing.
One of the most beautiful features of Ash Cave is its seasonal waterfall. During periods of rainfall and spring runoff, water flows over the sandstone cliffs and drops into the area below, creating a picturesque natural scene. Spring and fall are particularly attractive seasons for exploring the area, while summer provides lush green scenery and shade.

Just outside Logan, Lake Logan State Park offers a quieter side of the Hocking Hills experience, where wooded hills meet calm water and days can move at a slower pace. The park centers around a roughly 400-acre lake, making it a favorite place for boating, paddling, fishing, swimming, picnicking, and simply enjoying the scenery.
Visitors can spend a summer afternoon on the public swimming beach, launch a kayak or paddleboard, rent a boat during the operating season, or find a peaceful spot along the shoreline. Fishing is another major draw, with the lake supporting species including bass, bluegill, crappie, muskie, and catfish. For those who prefer to stay on land, picnic areas and a section of the Buckeye Trail provide additional ways to enjoy the surrounding landscape.
Lake Logan is especially beautiful during fall, when the forested hills surrounding the water turn shades of orange, red, and gold. Whether you’re planning an active day on the water or simply looking for a scenic place to unwind between Hocking Hills adventures, Lake Logan makes an excellent addition to your itinerary.
